I'm so excited!!!!! Federation West Bull Riding Extravaganza is in town this week-end & I'm going with Mama & three friends.
I so enjoy this, I go every year. I don't like seeing anyone get hurt, but watching is great fun!!!!! A couple of years ago, I was sitting right by the shoot, where the cowboys get ready to ride. I got to see a little more than I bargained for. Some of the guys were changing clothes after their ride. WOW!!!! I must admit I did ENJOY that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cowboys are known for their Wrangler butts for a reason, let me tell ya. (wink)
Sorry, it's been a while since I've seen a man even partially naked & it was a treat!!
Anyway, I digress. They also have mutton bustin', where little kids (dressed in protective gear) ride sheep. It's a hoot!!! There are bull riders & rodeo clowns in the arena to make sure the youngins don't get hurt.
There is also a rodeo clown, they call them bull fighters, because they distract the bulls from the cowboys if they fall. This clown has a 13 year old Brahma (sp?) bull that he has trained to crawl, walk through a hoop of fire & such. Then of course they have cowboy poker. This consists of a table & chairs with willing participants sitting at the table, with their hands on the table. They then let a bull out & the players must stay seated & keep their hands on the table, or they are out. The winner gets a $100. No one has ever gotten hurt badly, thank goodness.
